Im November 2012 wurde mit dem Entwurf dieser Marmorskulptur im Studio Pescarella dieser Arbeit und dem Blog ein Anfang gesetzt. Nun ist sie endlich fertig, und mit der nachträglichen Interpretation des Kunstwerks (mal wieder) neue Erkenntnis gewonnen. Man überrascht sich immer wieder selber!
Der Vogel Ibis hat in diesem Falle ein steinernes Ei geöffnet, in dem ein Fossil geborgen ist. Ein schon mal gelebtes Leben als Schnecke, das versteinert ist. Wer weiß, wann sich diese Materialisierung wieder in Leben wandelt!
Die Quintessenz auf die Seinsfrage, auf der dieser Ibis sitzt, lautet
XLII (42).
Jene Antwort von dem Computer “Deep Thought” auf die ultimative Frage nach dem Leben, dem Universum und dem ganzen Rest, war als Scherz von Douglas Adams in seinem Roman “Per Anhalter durch die Galaxis” gemeint und als solches Zitat in diesem Marmorstein gelandet.
Bei der Beschäftigung mit der Ziffer 42 tun sich allerdings unglaublich viele Welten auf: sei es in der Mathematik, Wissenschaft im allgemeinen, Technologie, Astronomie und Religion.
So ist es z.B. als binäres System in der Computersprache zu verstehen, in der Kabbala das Synonym für die Kreation des Universums, wobei auch Verbindungen zu den 42-Buchstaben des babylonischen Talmud zu finden sind.
Ebenfalls in der ägyptischen Mythologie spielt sie mit den 42 Prinzipien der Göttin Ma’at im Totenbuch eine herausragende Rolle.
Ihr männlicher Antagonist ist Thot, mit dem sie nach dem Aufgang von Ra, zusammen in der Sonnenbarke abgebildet ist.
Der Gott Thot wird mit einem Ibiskopf dargestellt.
Man staune über solche Zufälle!

Planning this marble sculpture in november 2012 in the Studio Pescarella was the beginning of this artwork and the beginning of this blog.
Now it is finally done, and through a retrospective interpretation of the artwork I gained (once again) new insight. One surprises oneself time and again!
The bird Ibis has, in this case, opened an egg of stone, in which is enclosed a fossil. An already once-lived life as a snail, which, in time, turned into stone. Who knows, when this materialization will change again into life!
The quintessential insight to this question of being, on which this Ibis bird is sitting, is XLII (42).
This answer of the computer “Deep Thought” to the ultimate question regarding being, the universe and the whole rest, was at first written, as a joke by Douglas Adams in his science fiction novel “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” and landed as citation in this marble stone.
Looking into the number 42, incredible amounts of different worlds open up, be it in mathematics, science in general, technology, astronomy and religion.
So it is, for example, to be understood as the binary system in the computer language, as well as, in the Kabbalah, as the synonym for the creation of the universe, which has connections to the 42 letters of the babylonian talmud.
Also in Egyptian mythology this number plays an essential part as the 42 principles of the goddess Ma’at in the Egytptian Book of the Dead. Her male antagonist is Thot, with whom she is pictured together in the solar barque after the rising of Ra.
The God Thot is shown with the head of the bird Ibis.
One can truly be amazed by these coincidences!
